DoubleZero 2Z printed a record low of $0.04432 on Binance on October 2, exactly one year after the token’s launch-day high of $1.28. That is a 96.5% drop, and it landed on the day about 1.65 billion 2Z came off lockup.

The unlock itself was never a secret. What stands out is the sequence: a 23% pump into it on September 26, then six days of selling that left the price 22% below its September 25 close.

The Pump Came First, Then The 2Z Floor Gave Way

On September 26 the Binance 2Z/USDT daily candle opened at $0.05885, touched $0.08074 and closed at $0.07254. By October 1 it was back at $0.05662.

The October 2 candle opened at $0.05661, hit $0.04432 and closed at $0.04597, down 18.8% on the day. Volume was $9.8 million, 2.6 times the $3.7 million average of the prior ten daily candles.

The DoubleZero 2Z chart reads as a failed bounce inside a long downtrend. Price is back on the $0.0443 to $0.0447 shelf, where the September 16 low ($0.04474) and the October 2 low ($0.04432) sit within 1% of each other.

Above, $0.0566 (the October 2 open) is the first ceiling, then $0.0598. Daily RSI(14) is 39, computed from Binance closes, weak but not washed out.

What The DoubleZero 2Z Chart Said Would Happen

DoubleZero’s tokenomics disclosure, dated September 26, 2025, defines the “Standard Lockup” as a gradual unlock over four years from launch. Foundation and Ecosystem (29%) was unlocked at launch, Jump Crypto (28%) was 5% unlocked, and Malbec Labs, Institutions, Team, Contributors and Builders were locked.

DoubleZero, “2Z Tokenomics Disclosures,” page 4, rendered October 3, 2026. The unlock chart is flat near 3.5 billion tokens until fall 2026, steps to about 5.1 billion, then climbs in a straight line toward 10 billion by October 2029.

That step is the October 2 cliff. Tokenomist lists the release at $93.64 million across seven allocations.

Tokenomist, DoubleZero unlock events, screenshotted October 3, 2026. The October 2, 2026 release is listed at $93.64M across 7 allocations, one day old.

That value is the unlock priced at the day’s $0.0566 open. At October 3’s $0.0457, the same tokens are worth about $75 million, roughly $18 million less than at the October 2 open.

After the step, the chart’s slope implies about 31 million 2Z a week through 2029, around $1.4 million a week at today’s price. The cliff is behind it; the drip is small.

Two Data Sites, $76 Million Apart

CoinGecko’s daily history, through its market cap and price, implies a circulating supply of 3.469 billion on September 26 and 5.113 billion on October 1, a rise of 1.643 billion, or 47%. Its page now shows 5.126 billion, a $234.3 million market cap and rank 175.

Coinglass still carries the old count.

Revenue Is Measured In Hundreds Of Thousands, The Unlock In Billions

The DoubleZero 2Z Q2 2026 holder update says subscribers paid about $330,000 in USDC across 39 subscription epochs, which converted to roughly 4.35 million 2Z. Of that, 435,000 2Z was burned.

DoubleZero, “Q2 2026 Token Holder Update,” published August 18, 2026, screenshotted October 3, 2026. The protocol revenue bullet reads $330,000 in USDC across 39 subscription epochs, roughly 4.35MM 2Z, with 435,000 2Z burned.

The October 2 release was about 380 times the 2Z that a full quarter of subscription revenue bought. The update puts total burns since launch near 1.8 million 2Z, about 0.1% of the tokens that just unlocked.

The other side of the ledger is building. The main repository logged 58 commits in the four weeks to October 2 against 73 in the month before, including a version 0.44.0 release on October 2 and a contributor-payment commit on October 1.

DoubleZero 2Z Shorts Are Paying To Stay Short

Binance’s 2ZUSDT perpetual funding sat near -0.01% for the eight-hour windows before the unlock. At the 20:00 UTC settlement on October 2 it hit -0.17%, then -0.30%, -0.27%, -0.35%, -0.27% and -0.27% through 16:00 UTC on October 3, per Binance’s funding history. Shorts are paying longs that much each window.

Binance’s global long/short account ratio fell from 1.70 on September 27 to 0.76 on October 2, and was 0.87 on October 3. More accounts are short than long.

Crowded shorts cut both ways. They mark conviction, and they are fuel if price turns. Futures volume of $83.1 million a day is three times spot’s $27.6 million, so the derivatives book is setting the tone.

Bitcoin is not driving this. The correlation of 2Z’s daily returns with BTC was 0.13 over seven days and 0.33 over thirty, from Binance daily closes.

Thin 2Z Books Meet A Very Large Unlock

On CoinGecko’s spot markets table, the Binance 2Z/USDT pair carries 18.97% of volume, $9.08 million. Within 2% of the price it shows $63,828 of asks and $100,813 of bids.

The unlocked supply is about 750 times that $100,813 of bid depth. Most holders will not sell, and the weekly drip is small, but a book this thin helps explain how fast the October 2 candle fell.

What Would Change The Read

Holding $0.0443 to $0.0447 keeps the DoubleZero 2Z double bottom intact. A daily close under $0.0443 would set a fresh record low, with no earlier trades below it to act as support.

A close back above $0.0566 would retake the October 2 open and put the short crowd under pressure. That is the level that matters while funding stays this negative.
