Bitget Wallet has integrated the XRP Ledger directly into its platform, opening XRP-based payments and RLUSD stablecoin access to more than 90 million users. The wallet, which operates as a non-custodial self-custody app, now connects XRPL to its Onchain Payments Matrix infrastructure spanning bank transfers, card systems, and merchant payment rails.

The move pushes XRP Ledger well past its traditional trading audience. XRPL now sits inside a payment ecosystem that reaches everyday users conducting cross-border transfers, QR merchant payments, and fiat-to-stablecoin conversions.

XRPL Plugs Into Real-World Payment Scenarios

According to the official announcement on GlobeNewswire, users can now send and receive XRP and RLUSD natively on the XRP Ledger, with cross-chain swap support covering XRPL assets and tokens across multiple blockchain networks. RLUSD on- and off-ramp channels are live, letting users move between fiat and stablecoins without leaving the app.

RLUSD itself is issued natively on both the XRP Ledger and Ethereum. It holds a full 1:1 USD reserve of cash and cash equivalents. Bitget reports that RLUSD deposits, withdrawals, and XRPL-based application interactions are all now accessible inside the wallet.

Crypto cards, QR code payments, and bank transfers tied to XRPL are listed as coming features. The integration effectively places blockchain settlement inside familiar daily payment workflows rather than keeping it behind exchange interfaces.

Alvin Kan, COO of Bitget Wallet, described the direction plainly. Wallets, he said, are turning into complete financial interfaces, and the goal is to make blockchain work in day-to-day finance by connecting blockchains, stablecoins, and traditional payment rails through the Onchain Payments Matrix so digital assets move more easily into real-world commerce.

XRPL Was Built for This

“@BitgetWallet on X: Excited to announce XRP Ledger as a Key Payments Partner for Bitget Wallet! We’re not just adding XRPL as a network. XRP Ledger has been cooking hard on payment rails and this collab will accelerate our real-world crypto payments. Full native integration starts now with #XRPL.” View post

The rationale for picking XRPL as the core payments partner was stated directly. According to @BitgetWallet on X, XRPL was purpose-built for payments and moving money globally on the network is instant, costing a fraction of a cent per transaction.

That cost structure is what separates XRPL from general-purpose blockchains in payment contexts. Settlement speed and near-zero fees make it a practical layer for the kind of high-frequency, small-value transfers that everyday payment systems require.

@BitgetWallet also outlined the full feature set on X, confirming mainnet transactions for XRP and RLUSD, seamless cross-chain swaps, and RLUSD on/off-ramp support are already live, with crypto card, QR payments, and bank transfers coming next.

Brett Mollin, Executive Director of the XRPL Foundation, put the significance this way: Bitget Wallet has been working to turn wallets into the front door of everyday finance, and bringing XRP and RLUSD to tens of millions of users who already use crypto for payments and daily transactions is exactly the kind of broad retail reach the ecosystem has needed.

Incentive Push to Drive RLUSD Adoption

Bitget Wallet and the XRPL Foundation are launching a joint ecosystem incentive program alongside the integration. Limited-time rewards target first-time RLUSD users, aimed at lowering the entry barrier and expanding liquidity across XRPL-based financial applications.

The program includes community campaigns designed to increase activity and participation on the XRP Ledger network. No fixed timeline was announced for when crypto card and bank transfer features tied to XRPL go live.

Stablecoins functioning as actual settlement infrastructure, rather than just trading tools, is the broader pattern this integration fits into. RLUSD was designed with cross-border transfers and digital commerce in mind, and embedding it inside a wallet of this scale gives that design a concrete distribution channel.

Key Takeaways:

  1. Bitget Wallet integrates XRP Ledger, giving 90M users access to XRP and RLUSD payments.
  2. RLUSD on/off-ramp support, cross-chain swaps, and QR payments are now part of the rollout.
  3. XRPL Foundation and Bitget Wallet launch joint incentive program to grow RLUSD adoption.
