Friday gave XRP a 7.4% range and took all of it back. The Binance candle ran from $1.4458 to $1.5550 and closed at $1.4847, and by Monday afternoon the XRP price sat at $1.49 again.

September closed at $1.4900 and October opened at exactly that, which says how little the first week of the month has done. Most of what matters is in the box.

Both Ends Of The Box Got Tested

Since September 28 the XRP/USDT four-hour chart hasn’t left $1.4458 to $1.5617. Stops pile up over the Tuesday high at $1.5617, the Friday high at $1.5550 and a pair of equal highs at $1.5449. Under the XRP price, equal lows at $1.4768 and Friday’s low are the obvious targets.

Friday hit the top and the bottom in one session. Weekend trade was quiet, with $70 million Saturday and $88 million Sunday against a 30-day average near $244 million. Not one four-hour close has landed outside the box. The first that does, either side, is what this whole structure is waiting on, and nothing in the data picks the direction ahead of time.

Lower Highs, Higher Lows

On the daily chart the highs step down, $1.6999 on August 22, $1.6581 on September 23, $1.5617 on September 29. Floors rose instead for the XRP price, from $1.2468 on September 16 to Friday’s $1.4458. The XRP price is over all four daily EMAs, the nearest being the 20-day at $1.474. Lower highs against higher lows squeeze a range from both sides, and the tighter it gets, the more a single close matters.

Two gaps are left from the September 18 and 21 candles. Upper one runs $1.4174 to $1.4934, and Friday’s low poked into it. Lower one, $1.3201 to $1.3932, took a single dip on September 20.

The August Run Wrote The XRP Price Range

Four days did it. August 18 ended at $1.0019. By August 22 XRP had printed $1.6999, and Binance spot volume went from $45 million to $894 million. That 22nd was the third-heaviest volume day of 2026 on this chart, behind only two days in early February.

Six weeks on, price is still inside that candle sequence, between $1.2468 and $1.6999, and sits near the middle of it.

Weekly And Monthly XRP Price Structure Leans Bearish

Zoom out and the cycle high is $3.6607 from July 18, 2025, the low $0.9862 from August 14. About 19% of that fall has been bounced back, and the XRP price hasn’t closed a week above the 0.236 retracement at $1.6174. Monthly closes rose three times running, July through September.

Weekly EMAs bracket price awkwardly, with the 21-week and 200-week just under it, around $1.36 to $1.39, and the 50-week at $1.521 and 100-week at $1.583 over it.

Futures Lean Long

Funding on Binance’s XRPUSDT perpetual has mostly sat at its +0.01% baseline. Open interest is $476 million, under the roughly $590 million peak around September 23. Long accounts outnumber shorts about 2.3 to 1.

Bitcoin Still Sets The Pace

XRP’s 30-day correlation with Bitcoin is 0.86. It gained 5.6% over those 30 days to Bitcoin’s 6.8%, and priced in BTC it’s about 1,750 satoshis against 1,769 a month ago. With a correlation that high, XRP’s own range tends to follow whatever Bitcoin’s is doing.

Bitcoin sits above its 100-day average, $85,222 against $71,527, a bear-market clock we looked at last week. Our XRP and XLM liquidation maps piece covered one slice of the same range, from the positioning side.

Dated Items On XRPL

XRPL shipped xrpld 3.4.1 on September 25 as an emergency security release. Its fixBatchV1_2 amendment has validator supermajority support and is expected to enable on October 9. If support holds, the post says, servers not on 3.4.1 will become amendment blocked and unable to stay in sync.

Ripple said on September 29 that Brazil’s CSD BR will mirror BTG Pactual fund-share records on the ledger. It uses the Multi-Purpose Token standard, and CSD BR’s own systems stay the official record.

Trigger Levels For The XRP Price

On four-hour closes at Binance spot, above $1.5617 targets $1.5810 and then $1.6581, and the idea fails on a close back under $1.5540. Below $1.4458 targets $1.3932 and then $1.3201, and it fails back over $1.4530. Between those, nothing’s triggered.

The FOMC meets October 27 to 28, with the XRPL amendment date coming first, on October 9.
