The NMR price sat at $12.01 on Binance at 11:35 UTC on Tuesday, October 6. One minute later it printed $15.05. By 11:39 the high was $18.99, 58% above where it started.
Upbit had posted a notice at 11:36:26 UTC. It said Numeraire would open for KRW and USDT trading at 20:45 Seoul time that evening.

The NMR Candle That Needed No Seller
Before the notice, Binance NMR/USDT was close to asleep. Most one-minute candles from 10:50 to 11:35 UTC printed under $3,000 of volume, and price drifted between $11.94 and $12.02.
The 11:36 candle did $1.65 million. The 11:00 hour did $11.0 million as the NMR price rewrote the chart. The average for a whole day over the previous 30 days was $2.0 million.

Price had traded between $11.51 and $12.17 all of Monday. Nothing on the tape hinted at the notice. There was no visible lead-up to read.
Seoul Pushed the NMR Price 24% Above Binance
Upbit’s first KRW candle came at 11:50 UTC, after the exchange’s roughly five-minute buy restriction. Converted at Upbit’s own KRW-USDT rate, the NMR price in Seoul was about $22.13, while Binance closed the same minute at $17.80. That’s a 24% gap.
It closed fast. The premium was near 11% by 11:53 and about 5% by 12:10. Upbit’s KRW pair took roughly 24.9 billion won of volume in its first forty minutes, close to $18.5 million.

CoinGecko had Upbit’s NMR/KRW at 21.6% of 24-hour volume, ahead of Binance’s USDT pair at 15.0%. The books are thin for that traffic. Binance showed about $41,000 within 2% above the price and $48,000 below. Upbit showed $94,000 above and $195,000 below.
NMR Futures Did Most of the Shouting
Coinglass counted $339 million of NMR futures volume against $51 million of spot across the venues it tracks. Open interest was $52.2 million, against a market cap of $130 million.
On Binance, perp volume rose 1,850% to $158.8 million. OKX was up 5,279%. Binance open interest went from about $5.5 million at 11:00 UTC to $14.6 million.

Shorts were the crowded side. Binance’s funding rate, charged every four hours, settled at -0.998% at 12:00 UTC and -1.578% at 16:00. The exchange caps it at 2%. A rate like that means shorts pay longs more than 1.5% every four hours to stay in.
Liquidations stayed modest across 24 hours, $784,000 of shorts against $417,000 of longs. The squeeze was real without being large.
That 525,000 NMR Binance Move Isn’t a Dump
Around 12:36 UTC one Ethereum transfer moved 525,029.91 NMR. Etherscan priced it at $8.9 million, close to 7% of the 7.62 million in circulation. Any tracker that reads only size and an exchange name would’ve screamed whale dump.
Look at the labels, though. The sender is Binance: Hot Wallet 20 and the receiver is Binance 14. That’s Binance moving its own coins between its own wallets, with no outside depositor anywhere in the trade.

Nothing From Numerai Itself
Numerai’s blog has been quiet since its September 1 monthly update. The token’s last real mention was a July 15 buyback note: $3.2 million repurchased in total, roughly 3.1 million NMR still in the treasury, supply capped at 11 million.
That fits a listing day. Bitcoin didn’t move, and the NMR price has a 30-day correlation to it of about 0.04 anyway.
Where the NMR Price Chart Stands
NMR spent May to late September inside a $7.32 to $11.09 range. The break came on September 28, when Binance spot ran to $15.50 on $18 million of volume. It gave most of that back, closing at $11.29 on September 30.
The NMR price has now made two of these runs, and they share a shape. Both were a single burst on thin books, and the first one faded within two days. Daily RSI is 77, and price is far above its 20-day average of $10.47.

Since the 12:00 UTC hour the NMR price has held $16.14 to $17.92 on Binance spot. Hourly volume has dropped from $4.9 million to $2.2 million in the 15:00 hour.
The upside case is an hourly close above $17.92, which opens the $18.99 spike high. It’s cancelled by an hourly close below $16.14. The downside case starts with that same close below $16.14, pointing at $15.50, the September 28 high, and then $12.53 to $12.15 where Monday’s tape sat. It’s cancelled by an hourly close back above $16.60.
Inside that range the evidence is balanced. Bitcoin trades above a rising 100-day average ($85,689 against $71,793) and NMR sits over its 20-day high, which helps bulls a little. Fading volume doesn’t, and neither does a Seoul premium that vanished in twenty minutes.
