Starknet STRK had been drifting near $0.044 for most of October 3 when a trader posting as Pumponomics published a long thesis on X at 14:33 UTC. He wrote that he had bought $740,000 of the token that week.
Depending on the tracker, Starknet STRK was up between 23% and 31% over 24 hours by the morning of October 4. CoinGlass put the 30-day gain at 102%.
The useful question is what moved first. Starknet’s own announcements were already a day old. A wallet transfer and the post were not.
The STRK Wallet Filled Before The Post
Etherscan’s Starknet STRK token page, filtered to one address, shows the sequence. At 14:13:35 UTC the wallet starting 0xe1Fc4b received 1,000 STRK from Coinbase Prime 2, which reads like a test. At 14:25:47 the same sender delivered 17,444,001.5 STRK.
That landed eight minutes before the Pumponomics post. Nothing has left the wallet since.

At the screenshot the balance was worth about $938,000, against a cost that Arkham-based trackers put near $767,000. In its STRK history the wallet has only ever received.
On-chain account Nazoku posted on X at 18:23 UTC that the wallet was linked to a trader named Quanterty. ChainCatcher later relayed an Arkham alert with the same label, calling the owner a suspected KOL. We could not confirm who controls the address.
The Position Card Fits That Wallet
Pumponomics’s own post includes a position card from the Fomo trading app. It lists $774.2K invested at an average entry of $443.8M. Divide that entry by Starknet’s 10 billion total supply and you get $0.04438 a token, and $774.2K at that price buys about 17.44 million STRK.
The Etherscan wallet holds 17.45 million. The two figures differ by roughly 200 tokens.
Either the Arkham tag points at the wrong person, or two buyers ended up with the same size to within a couple hundred tokens. Public data cannot settle it. The text of the post says $740,000 while the card says $774,200, and the post never explains the gap.

The card also carries a promo line, 10% off fees with code ThePumponomics. That does not change the numbers. It does mean the image came wrapped in a referral pitch for the app it showed.
STRK Volume Woke Up Within Minutes
Binance STRK/USDT traded roughly $8,000 per five minutes in the first half hour of that afternoon. From 14:30 UTC the quarter hour brought $64,000, against $21,000 in the quarter before. The 15:00 quarter hour brought $313,000, and 15:15 brought more than $1 million.
Price lagged volume. Starknet STRK sat at $0.0441 at 14:00 and $0.0446 at 15:05, a 1.2% rise, before the breakout candles arrived.
The 15:00 UTC hourly candle then closed at $0.0492, up 11.7% on $2.59 million of volume. A normal hour that morning traded around $100,000.

The wallet’s tokens arrived from Coinbase Prime, so whoever traded this Binance volume, it was not that delivery. The Pumponomics post had 92,500 views when we looked.
Starknet’s Official News Was Already Old
Starknet’s X account posted at 12:32 UTC on October 2 that bridge fees were covered for the first 100 BTC bridged in through strkBTC. That is 26 hours before the first volume lift, and STRK moved about 1% in between.

The last post on the project’s feed before the surge was a recap of a Seoul meetup at 09:05 UTC on October 3. Nothing from Starknet landed between that recap and the 15:00 hour.
A network upgrade comes next. A prerelease note on the Starknet community forum, posted by OdedSW, puts v0.14.4 on mainnet on October 5 pending governance approval. It calls the release small and mostly transparent, with small cost-alignment changes to pricing.

Futures Ran Seven Times Spot
CoinGlass lists futures volume of $465.7 million against $67 million on spot, with open interest at $88.4 million. CryptoTimes, citing CoinGlass, had open interest at $74.19 million on the evening of October 3, so it kept growing overnight.

CoinGecko’s Layer 2 page showed the whole category up only 2.4%, with Starknet first in its trending box and among its top gainers.

Starknet STRK Resistance Sits Near $0.064
The last time STRK ran like this, covered here on September 21, a roughly 90% three-day rally gave back about 11% within a day. That run topped out at $0.0509 on September 20.
This Starknet STRK move has cleared that high. The daily high on October 4 reached $0.0567 on Binance, the highest since that May spike. The next ceiling is the May 9 wick at $0.0638.

Momentum is stretched. We computed RSI from Binance candles: 75.6 on the daily chart, 73.5 on the four-hour, 76.4 on the hourly. That is a warning about pace, not a sell signal.
Pumponomics called a bullish divergence on the weekly chart, and a small one does exist. August’s low of $0.0222 sits under April’s $0.0320, yet weekly RSI bottomed at 34.0 that month, two points over April’s 32.0. The reading now is 58.1. It was 51.0 last week and 55.1 the week before.
Support is the $0.044 base the move launched from, then the old September high near $0.051.
Starknet Fees Fell While The Price Doubled
DeFiLlama shows Starknet’s fees at $33,674 over 24 hours and $1.79 million over 30 days, with a weekly change of minus 26.2%. One derivatives app, Extended, accounts for $1.55 million of that 30-day total. Back in early 2026 daily fees touched something near $400,000, about twelve times today’s level.

TVL, the money parked inside Starknet apps, is $164.46 million. Its 2024 peak ran about double that. Over those same 30 days the Starknet STRK price doubled.
Pumponomics conceded the weakness himself. His post says hardly anyone uses the chain and revenue is basically nothing. His case rests on private trading apps that might change that.
The October 15 Release Comes Next
Tokenomist lists the next scheduled STRK release for October 15, valued at $6.80 million at the price shown, going to early contributors. It is one of six upcoming events, and it is nearly nine times the cost of the Etherscan wallet.

Pumponomics argued the sellers are mostly done. In his telling the September release, a $3.66 million line in the table above, got absorbed fine. Markets tend to front-run the rest, he figures.
The timing links one wallet and one post to the first volume. It does not prove either caused the move, and Starknet itself said nothing at the time. Starknet STRK is overbought on three timeframes going into the October 5 upgrade and the October 15 release.
